Medieval/Viking Age Belt Bag

This is another, completely handmade and handsewn, leather belt bag. This belt bag is a very early style, possibly Medieval or Viking Age belt bag.  This bag is made from 4-5oz veg tanned cowhide. The bag measures 7 3/4 inches wide and 6 inches from top to bottom when closed. The belt loops will take up to a 3 inch wide belt. The bag has been sewn around the outside with a heavy leather thong. I added an aged bone button and leather tie down to the flap. I used a combination of leather dye and period correct vinegaroon to achieve the dark brown color. I finished the bag with an oil and beeswax conditioner.
As always, everything has been done completely by hand. It has been dyed, cut, sewn with waxed linen thread, and finished by hand, no machines or assembly line methods used at all just to save time.
